About Osemuzee

Music has been a part of me for as long as I can remember. Even as a child, I found myself trying to repeat almost everything I heard in a song. I would recreate melodies, imitate sounds, and sometimes even make beats with my mouth without realizing that I was already developing a deep connection with music.

At around 13, I started making music. With nothing more than a button phone and its basic sound recorder, I began recording my own songs. The quality was far from professional, but I didn’t care. I was learning, experimenting, and most importantly, having fun creating.

As I grew, I started exploring beat-making and mobile music production. I made beats using Groove Pad and recorded songs with mobile DAWs such as Rap Fame, Rapchat, and Tune Me. These tools introduced me to the process of creating music, but I knew there was still much more I wanted to learn.

Then, an online friend introduced me to BandLab through a collaboration. At first, BandLab was overwhelming. There were so many features and possibilities that I barely understood where to begin. Most of the tutorials I found online were also made by people using iPhones, while I was working with an Android phone. But that didn’t stop me.

After that first collaboration, I heard the difference. It wasn’t perfect, but the result sounded noticeably better to me than what I had been getting from the apps I previously used. That was enough to make me stay.

I spent months watching tutorials, experimenting with different effects, learning vocal processing, and trying to understand how mixing actually worked. I made mistakes, started over, tried different techniques, and slowly improved. Eventually, BandLab became more than just an app I used to record songs. It became the place where I learned the fundamentals of music production.

As my skills improved, I shared my work with my parents, and they supported me by helping me get the equipment I needed to take music more seriously. With an iPhone, laptop, headphones, and the speaker I already had, I finally had a setup that allowed me to push my creativity further.

I started releasing my own music, and eventually other artists began noticing the sound. Artists reached out through my DMs, and those conversations turned into collaborations. I started mixing and mastering not only my own songs, but also working with other artists and helping them bring their ideas to life.

But I eventually ran into another problem. I was relying heavily on beats I found on YouTube, and although they helped me create music, using them came with limitations when it came to distributing my songs. I didn’t want my music to constantly face copyright problems, restrictions, or unnecessary delays.

So I went back to learning.

This time, I focused on beat-making. I wanted to understand the entire process instead of depending on beats made by someone else. The journey has been long, and I’m still learning, but today I can create different types of beats and continue developing my sound as a producer.

What started with a button phone at 13 has grown into a journey through songwriting, recording, mixing, mastering, beat-making, and collaboration.

I’m still young, and I know I have a lot more to learn. But that’s what makes the journey exciting.

This website is a part of that journey.

Here, I share my music, BandLab presets, production resources, and other things I’ve learned along the way — especially for upcoming artists who may be starting with nothing more than a phone and a dream, just like I did.

I believe you don’t need the perfect equipment or the perfect circumstances to start creating. You just need to start, keep learning, and refuse to stop improving.

This is Osemuzee. This is my journey. And I’m still building.
